Allentown Works Launches with $20M Federal Funding

According to Lehigh Valley Business, the City of Allentown has launched Allentown Works, a new workforce initiative supported by a $20 million grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration’s Distressed Area Recompete Pilot Program. The program focuses on residents in the Franklin Park, Center City, and 1st & 6th Ward neighborhoods, providing job training, childcare support, and improved transportation access to help remove barriers to employment. In partnership with local employers and nonprofits, Allentown Works aims to connect more than 650 residents to long-term, stable jobs by 2030.
